Animal rights activists from the group Animal Rebellion use bamboo structures to blockade access to a food processing plant that produces all the burgers for McDonalds in the UK. 3 million beef patties a day are produced in the factory. Animal Rebellion aims to pressure McDonalds to convert to a plant based menu. McDonalds is targeted because it is viewed as a symbol of industrial animal agriculture which contributes to the climate crisis as well as causing suffering to animals.
