Red Rebel Brigade in Trafalgar Square on the first day of Extinction Rebellion's September 2020 rebellion.
Rosy was taking the lead and I felt an intense connection to her, and all life when I took a moment to put down my camera and lock eyes. I’d seen the Red Brigade before but it was from this moment that I realised how powerful it was.

I changed my mind a fair bit. I remember wanting to be a vet for a long while. Also, a nurse, or actor, or writer. It's a nice question, to look back and realise I wanted to look after things/ people, and to be creative, even then.

Currently, I work as a performer, producer, and workshop facilitator. I also co-founded a body positivity and creative empowerment project.

I'm here because knowing what I do about what's happening in the world, and the part that our species is playing in that, and the threat to all species because of it, I need to be, it's important that I show up. I feel that deeply, in a way perhaps that I don't fully understand.

Truthfully, I don't know how hopeful I am that humanity will mobilise on the scale needed to turn things around. But I also don't know that feeling hopeful is a necessary requirement for trying to do what we can to help, or for loving and honouring the life that we have, that we share, that it's our enormous privilege to be part of, and our responsibility to try to protect. These are deeply troubled times in so many ways, but I'm very grateful to be a small part of them.
